EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. EMDR is an evidence-based therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process and overcome distressing memories and traumatic events.
Developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro, EMDR consists of eight phases that guide clients through the reprocessing of past traumas. Unlike talk therapy, EMDR clients focus on difficult memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation, like eye movements or tapping.
EMDR works by reducing the emotional intensity and vividness of distressing or painful memories. In doing so, EMDR helps foster healthier, more adaptive ways of thinking about oneself, others, and the world.
EMDR therapy is an effective treatment for trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and other emotional issues.
I believe EMDR Therapy can help you experience a sense of calmness and emotional lightness.
